ABOUT THE TRUE COLORS TOUR

The True Colors Tour was conceived by Cyndi Lauper stemming from her desire to celebrate the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community and advocate for the basic values and freedoms that should be shared by all Americans. Fans experience these values through the music of both legendary icons and the newest and coolest acts this generation has to offer. Owned and produced by True Colors Concerts, LLC, the True Colors Tour has traveled across North America the past two years to critical acclaim and wildly enthusiastic crowds.

In 2007, the True Colors Tour was launched and traveled to 15 cities across United States, with a stop in Canada. Headlined by Cyndi Lauper, Erasure and Debbie Harry, additional talent on the tour included Rosie O'Donnell, Rufus Wainwright, The Gossip, The Dresden Dolls and host Margaret Cho. In partnership with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), True Colors worked with GLBT non-profit groups and corporate sponsors - Orbitz, LOGO TV and Sirius Satellite Radio - to celebrate diversity and encourage the passage of the Federal Hate Crimes Bill in the United States Senate. The True Colors Tour is proud to have played a role in garnering attention and support for this important bill, which eventually passed the Senate, but was withdrawn due to a threat of veto by then President Bush.

In 2008, the True Colors Tour expanded to 24 cities across North America with a wider group of talent including Cyndi Lauper, The B-52s, Sarah McLachlan, the Indigo Girls, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Joan Armatrading, Tegan and Sara, Regina Spektor and host Carson Kressley. In partnership again with HRC and other GLBT non-profit organizations, the Touršs messaging shifted to focus on encouraging patrons to use their most important civil right and VOTE in the upcoming November elections. The Tour also partnered with iTunes, American Airlines and Sirius Satellite Radio to spread its message as widely as possible.

Building on the success of the first two years, the True Colors Tour is currently in the planning stages to hit the road once again and expand its horizons.
